IDK, You Pick ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect authentication credentials through Firebase Authentication. You can choose to sign in with:
  • Sign in with Apple (iOS/macOS): We receive your Apple ID email address (which may be a private relay address to protect your privacy) and optionally your name. Apple controls what information is shared with us.
  • Sign in with Google: We receive your Google account email address.
• Guest Mode: You may use the app without creating an account. In guest mode, no account information is collected or synced to our servers.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Pick Activity: When you search for a show and receive a random episode pick, we record the show name, pick source (search or grid), whether it was a re-pick, and a timestamp. For signed-in users, your user ID and display name are also associated with the record for analytics purposes.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
• Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens (FCM tokens) necessary to send you push notifications.
• Advertising Identifiers: On iOS, we use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework to request your permission before collecting your advertising identifier (IDFA). This identifier is used by Google AdMob to serve personalized ads. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your iOS Settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and maintain our services, including random episode picking
• Analyse which shows are most frequently searched and picked to improve the app experience
• Serve advertisements through Google AdMob to support the free app
• Respond to your requests and provide customer support
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

• Apple Sign In: We use Apple's authentication service for secure sign-in on iOS and macOS devices. See Apple's Privacy Policy
• Google Sign In: We use Google's authentication service. See Google's Privacy Policy
• Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for authentication, cloud storage, and push notifications. See Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob: We use AdMob to serve in-app advertisements. AdMob may collect device information and advertising identifiers. See Google's Privacy Policy
• Episodate API: We use the Episodate API to retrieve TV show and episode data. Your show searches are sent to this service. See episodate.com

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase Cloud Firestore with industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (see Section 6 below for detailed instructions)
• Notification Settings: Manage notification preferences within the app or your device settings

6. Account and Data Deletion

6.1 How to Request Account Deletion

If you wish to delete your IDK, You Pick account and associated data, please follow these steps:

1. Send an email to mkinnander@bteamsoftware.com
2. Use the subject line: "IDK, You Pick Account Deletion Request"
3. Include the email address associated with your IDK, You Pick account
4. We will process your request and send you a confirmation email within 3 business days

6.2 What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently deleted:

• Your email address, display name, and authentication credentials
• Your Firestore user profile document (/users/{uid})
• Push notification tokens (FCM tokens)
• Aggregated and anonymized show pick analytics may be retained as they cannot be used to identify you individually

6.3 Data Retention After Deletion

Your account and all associated personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your deletion request. We may retain certain information only if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as:

• Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics that cannot identify you
• Information required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes
• Backup copies in our systems, which are automatically purged within 90 days

After deletion, your data cannot be recovered.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not request account deletion, we will retain your data as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you services.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

10. Third-Party Services

Our app integrates with the following third-party services:

• Apple Sign In: For secure authentication on iOS and macOS. Apple may provide a privacy-focused relay email address. See Apple's Privacy Policy

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using our service, you consent to such transfers.
